Pounamu Toki (adze)
This is one of our traditional tools used for carving our oral histories not only in our Tipuna Whare (ancestoral house) but also our waka (canoes) and our faces in the form of Tāa Moko.
Today we can wear this taonga as a reflection of the carved histories inside of ourselves.
Bound with Black Cord.
Each of these taonga are one-off crafted pieces, but we are able to re-create any of the taonga you see here or on our instagram@tekahapounamu (Stone may vary).
